Ed's Venom Chopper

Our current project is a Venom Chopper for Ed in Vancouver, Washington. Ed wanted his bike to be deep dark red wine color with stretched out traditional flames a couple shades lighter.  We started in that direction and picked out the color from the powder coat supplier.  A sample was sent to the painter and everything was set in motion.  Josh matched the powder perfectly with his paint, it all looked good in the shop or under artificial light.  When taken outside or under bright lights, the powder bleaches out and turns pink!!!  We can't have a pink bike!!!  So a new direction. Powder Coat it Black!

The powder bleaches to a pink color.

With the frame back from the powder coat and in its new black finish, it looks SO much better. We should have gone this direction the first time. We begin by installing the engine, transmission, and oil tank into the frame.

Black Powder on the frame looks 1000% better.

Ed went with a huge 124" S&S engine, the largest you can get in a Big Bear Chopper. This thing should SCREAM!  Check out that paint job by Josh at JE Illusions, it's yet another example of Josh's incredible talent.

Engine, Transmission, and oil tank in place.

The front end begins to take shape, risers, bars, controls, wheel, brakes, and fender are coming up next.

Front forks and trees installed.

This project is well under way, check back in and see the progress.  Ed will be taking this bike across the country in August as he rides from Washington to Sturgis! That's if we get it done in time. (Just kidding Ed, I knew that would get your goat!)
